What actually changes when you meet God. Ephesians says to take off your former way of life — not to add Jesus onto the life you already had, but to become a new creation, something that didn’t exist before. The picture is Isaiah, who thought he was on good terms with God until he saw Him: the throne, the seraphim, the doorposts shaking, and his own first reaction was “I am ruined.” God didn’t strike him. An angel took a coal from the altar and touched his lips, and the guilt was gone. That’s the pattern — you see God as He is, you see yourself honestly, and He deals with what He finds. After that, living the way you used to live simply stops fitting.
