Victory Week: Day 2

Elijah and the widow at Zarephath, and the order things happen in. The word came before the miracle: God had already spoken about her before the prophet arrived. Then came the instruction that made no sense — make me a small loaf first, out of the last flour you have, before you feed yourself and your son. Her circumstances said this is the end. God’s word said this is the beginning. The name Zarephath means a refining place, which is where she was standing when the supply came. The message lands on obedience: doing what God says while you still cannot see how it will work. Most of us want the miracle shown to us first, and then we’ll obey. It runs the other way.
